I started racing whilst at university, road races at first and then time trials. I was better suited to time trialling than road racing, and made reasonable improvements in the mid-1990s to record some times that I remain proud of.
More than 25 years later, I've now taken part in a large number of races, totalling over 10,000 miles of time trialling alone.
It is not as easy as it was to be motivated enough to put in the training required to get good results, and age is not on my side, but in 2018 I shall be trying to see what I can achieve with the latest technology and aerodynamic knowledge. Sadly I shall never know what times I could have recorded with the fitness I had then and the knowledge and equipment I have now!
First post-lockdown open time trial and the fastest 25 event in the North East - a chance for a good 25 time for the season-long competitions and the first opportunity to get a Spindata score to confirm any improvements since last season.
