Another Barnesbury club 10, this time with a favoured south westerly wind.
Entered another Barnesbury Club 10 really just for training. Nothing like sticking a number on to make you ride hard!
It was a wind-assisted run down to Plessey Checks where I had to slow quite a lot for a car on the roundabout before a very fast section out to the Three Horseshoes roundabout, giving me an average speed to the turn of 29.9 mph. I didn't get an entirely clear run on to the roundabout, but would have been worse off had I had a clean run through at Plessey Checks and arrived a few seconds earlier!
Amazingly the leg back towards Crowhall roundabout was also fairly fast. There my luck ran out as I had to give way to two cars and was virtually stopped. Given how hard I had been pushing I found it very hard to get back up to speed up the drag towards the finishing line, and I had turned at Plessey Checks before I felt I was back into my rhythm.
I was baulked again at the Three Horseshoes on lap two, but had a clear run from there to the finish for a time of 22:46. Not a bad result but could have been closer to 22:30 with clear roads. What was pleasing was to record my highest power output of the year for a 10 so things are heading in the right direction!
