A strong and blustery westerly wind made for difficult conditions for my first club 10 of the year, but the second in this year's series.
I still haven't worked out a clear and stable line avoiding the potholes round the first left hand bend on the course before the entrance to the Police HQ, so given the wind conditions I stayed off the tri-bars until I was over the next rise. Not ideal for speed but better to be safe than sorry.
The leg out to Kirkley Hall was fairly fast before turning into the wind. From Ogle the course was straight into the wind and I had first Baz and then Kev in my sights up the lane towards Belsay.
Turning on to the main road the tailwind was very strong, though gusting from the right hand side in places. I finally caught Kev just after the Highlander and I finished quite strongly. Pleased with a time of 24:48 for 9th place given the conditions, though slightly slower than others in the club I have been beating.
